Welcome to my new first graders!

Welcome, first graders!  Can't wait to meet you and get into our school year.  We're going to have an awesome year full of lots of fun and lots of learning.  (Learning IS fun!)  My dog Colter and cat (Moshie) say welcome too!!

Jaeger's Surprise Party

All three first grade classrooms came to a surprise party for Jaeger.  Everyone waited quietly in the lunch room for Jaeger to come.  When Jaeger arrived, we all yelled, "Surprise!"  Everyone chanted, "Jaeger is number one!  Jaeger is number one!" 

We will miss Jaeger while he is out for his surgery, and then home healing up from the surgery.  Get well soon, Jaeger!

Illustrating Stories With Play Doh

What do our taste buds taste?

Our class has been studying the five senses... seeing, hearing, smelling, tasting, and touching.  We learned that our brain uses those senses to find out about the world around us.  We did a taste test experiment to find out the different taste buds our tongue has.  Do you know what the four flavors are that our taste buds can taste?  Find out below during our "taste test"!


SALTY
We tested our salty taste. 
Our tongue has more salt taste buds than any other. 
Our body would die if we did not have salt.

SOUR

Issac is trying a lemon.  That's sour!

Kenny tried some bitter chocolate.  He was brave to try that!
