The Taste Test!

Our class has been studying the five senses... seeing, hearing, smelling, tasting, and touching.  We learned that our brain uses those senses to find out about the world around us.  We did a taste test experiment to find out the different taste buds our tongue has.  Do you know what the four flavors are that our taste buds can taste?  Find out below during our "taste test"!

Our four samples of the different tastes:  sweet, bitter, sour, and salty.

Alex and Sophi try some salt for the salty flavor.  Did you know that salty is the only tastebud flavor that our body acutally needs to stay alive?

Cayden and Iyana try the lemons.  Oooo, that's sour!

Brenden tries the sour lemon too.

Jose puts the bitter baker's chocolate in...

... Ewww, that tastes yucky!

Last we tasted some sweet suckers.  Now those were good!

We finished the puzzle!

A New Kitten!

Guess who got a new kitten for Christmas?  Ms. Bennett!  Meet Kelchi (KELL-chee), an 11 week old ragdoll kitten.  Kelchi means "moccasins" in the Navajo language.  As you can see, she has little white moccasins on her feet!  Check out the videos (in the video bar further down on this page) of Kelchi and Colter playing together.

A Great Narnia Story

Jacob and Cayden made a Narnia story from Legos.  Here is their story:

Susan is coming to the White Witch's castle.  She said, "It's between the two hills."  Lucy is already at the castle.  The witch is taking Edmund to the back of the castle. He is in danger!  Aslan is going to come and save them!

Crazy Faces; Crazy Costumes

Everyone enjoyed our costume party today.  First we had a costume parade in the gym.  Then we played Spooky Bingo and had some great treats in our room.  We had lots of fun!

A Narnia Story

Maraya and Brenden built a cool Narnia scene with Legos.  Here is their story:

The White Witch took Edmund and Lucy and brought them to her castle.  She did that because Edmund knew they were at the beaver's house.  Then the White Witch took three bad guys and brought them to her castle.  She is going to turn them into stone.  Edmund and Lucy got away!

Lincoln Log City!

Kendra and Carson built a Lincoln Log city all by themselves.  They built a bad guy's house (in the front.)  They also built a castle and an extra house behind it.  The very tall house is for tall people.  Good job, Carson and Kendra!
